Remember – good foot care is about more than wearing comfy socks! Whether you have diabetes, oedema or any other condition that could affect your feet and foot health, it's so important to take really good care of the skin around your feet and ankles as well as your toes. Read our top tips below for keeping your feet healthy.
Tip Number 1 – Wash and Dry
Wash your feet daily, using warm water and a mild soap. It’s also incredibly important to make sure you dry the entire foot area thoroughly and don’t forget in between the toes!
Tip Number 2 – Change It Up
We all know to change our socks every day, but did you know you should also try to change your shoes every day too? Making sure you don’t wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row will help dry out your shoes, helping to get rid of bacteria that could build up.
Tip Number 3 – Keep A Close Eye
If you already have concerns with your feet it’s important to monitor any changes or worsening symptoms. Check between your toes and on the sole of your feet, as well as up the ankles and calves regularly for marks or sore spots. Any concerns at all in regards to your foot health, always visit your GP.
