Championing Foot Health Together: Our Strategic Partnership With The Royal College of Podiatry

Exciting news inbound…we are extremely proud to announce that Gentle Grip and all of our sister brands that sit under the SOCKSHOP group have embarked upon a strategic partnership with The Royal College of Podiatry. One of our missions is to raise awareness of foot health, and we are thrilled to be partnering with an establishment that also shares these values. Our alliance will focus on continuing to spread understanding of podiatry and how best to care for your feet. This area of healthcare is widely underlooked and in our opinion, not spoken about enough, so we are delighted to strengthen our efforts to raise public awareness through this partnership.

To provide some background, The Royal College of Podiatry is the professional membership body and trade union for over 10,000 podiatrists in the UK and around the world. They champion those who suffer from foot and lower-limb health conditions, ensuring that their member’s views are heard by people in power, from politicians to policy makers. Additionally, they spread awareness to the public through campaigning and outreach work. If you are an HCPC-registered podiatrist and would like to become a member, simply click here and you can join your professional body and trade union today.

By strategically partnering with an establishment that mirrors our mission, we are able to engage even further with this community and make more of a positive impact in UK health care. Jane Pritchard, the RCPod’s CEO has stated;

“We are excited to welcome SOCKSHOP as our first strategic partner in this new chapter for the College. Their commitment to ethical business and their engagement with the podiatry community and our members makes them an ideal collaborator for our public awareness campaign. We are really looking forward to working with them to tell the vital story about podiatry to the public”.

Furthermore, the strategy is supported by the RCPod’s Ethical Collaboration Policy, which guarantees that the partnership is built on shared respect and values.

Championing foot health is something we have always held close to our heart. Our IOMI FootNurse range is specially designed to take care of your feet, with aspects such as our EasyStretch™ Technology, smooth toe seams and CoolMax technology helping those who manage conditions such as diabetes, oedema and lymphoedema. One of our most-loved styles of this range, the Bamboo Diabetic Socks are a firm-favourite of our customers, and for good reason. They provide extra comfort for those who suffer from swollen legs, with features such as the smooth toe seams designed to prevent blisters and cuts, which are problematic for those who have diabetes. This is just one example of how we advocate for promoting better foot health. By strategically partnering with the Royal College of Podiatry, we can drive our mission further forward.

We will be announcing more news and updates about our public awareness campaign later on in the year, so make sure you follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss out!
