December on the horizon, and the festive party season beginning to kick into gear, it can be hard for many women wearing heels to wear in a new pair, especially if they’re getting a lot of use during the season! Let Gentle Grip talk through a few tips to help your feet stay in shape this winter.

Keep it realistic

While everyone will want to stand out from the crowd at get-togethers, don’t overdo it! If you’ve not worn 5-inch heels in years then it may be easier to keep it that way, and go for something a little smaller. Bear this in mind if buying a new pair, or you could always visit a shoe repair shop to shorten the height of your sky-high heels. Your feet will thank you for it later!

Have pain relief on standby

Sometimes the damage will have already been done, and before you know it, you’ll have aching, sore feet. In this instance, keep an anti-blister stick with you at all times, just in case the pain flares up while you’re out and about. Padded inserts may also come in handy, if you’re favouring fashion over comfort!

Wear them in

If you’ve been in the market for a new pair of heels, it is imperative that you try wearing them in before the big night. By stretching out the areas that your feet may be pinched by your pair, you’ll be saving yourself a world of pain afterwards. Try walking around your house in them for a few hours, ideally while wearing a pair of thick socks.
